Yay! Only 3 months until they’re a year old! How cool is that

They seem to have become a bit more photogenic…they look fatter and more together or something…can’t quite figure it out. Quite often when I take pics of my dreads I look at them and think, “Oh, I thought they were looking better than that”, whereas this time it’s more like “Oh, they look much better than I thought”  Nice change.

Also, I think they’re lasting a bit longer without washing now. That could be due to the winter and my relatively low activity levels at the moment though.

My Pink Dreads at 9 Months

You can see my crappy dye job haha. Well I just didn’t have enough dye. I had one bottle, and it only just covered the bleached dreads, so the rest had to stay as they were. They look alright though.

The front dreads are finally becoming long enough for me to tuck behind my ears…though not quite long enough to stay in place very well. I feel a bit happier about just wearing them down now, and going out of the house without tying them in bunches first. A couple more inches of growth should make a big difference I reckon. They’re a very crappy vague inbetweeny length at the moment, as though there’s no real plan. I’ve got about 5mm of new growth already since the bleaching (such a good way to see hair growth!), so hopefully the progress will keep on showing

The back-view is looking nicer now too. My husband helped with a loose-end tidy-up session the other day, which made a big difference (actually if you look in one of the above photos you can see some hairs he missed lol). There were loads of baby hairs growing out between the dreads, some really long, like 3 or 4 inches. My new favourite method to tidy away the spare hairs is with a darning needle. Crochet hooks don’t seem to do it for me. I’ll do a separate post about the needles

Ummm what else…? My skin is still clearing up. Using wax really messed up a load of my pores, especially on the sides of my neck underneath my jaw. They’re still clearing up. I don’t wear make-up, so back in those early months, Photoshop’s clone-stamp was my best friend I’m sure you guys don’t wanna look at a load of my pimples

The verdict, as always: yay for dreads!
